PRP Facial

The PRP Facial Also Known as the Vampire Facial

The PRP facial has the most amazing benefits, you will discover. It will regenerate and rejuvenate your skin from the inside out. Unbeknownst to many people the aging process begins around 23-25 and after the age of 30 many of us start looking tired in the skin especially around our eyes mouth and nose to mouth area, known as the nasio-labial folds and the jaw line can also lose its shape.

The PRP facial will “moisturise” your skin from the inside out, through the formation of collagen and will also improve the tone and texture of your skin, which is a main concern of many women in their thirties onwards. Your eyes are the first thing people look at and are the focal point on your face. We all look in the mirror and critique how tired we look and most of this tiredness comes from our eyes.

Due the thin fragile skin around our eyes, they are prone to dark circles due to poor circulation, fine lines and wrinkles due to a break down in collagen and elasticity. The PRP facial will bring back the youthfulness in your eyes by the production of collagen, improved tone and texture and contour and brightening the eye area by reducing the appearance of dark circles.

Our skin can become tired and dull looking by sun exposure, smoking, underlying medical issues and aging. The PRP facial will stimulate collagen in all areas of the face, or wherever it is injected, the plasma will help generate collagen thereby rejuvenating the skin and improving its overall tone and texture, and another outcome of the PRP is the beautiful glow it creates, your skin will be radiating.

Scar tissue is a common concern because of acne. The PRP facial will help diminish scaring through its ability to regenerate collagen tissue thereby evening out the skin texture and giving an overall improved appearance in addition to what I’ve mentioned above.

The PRP facial is not a ‘filler’ such as Teoxane. It will slightly fill out the skin, in other words create a plumping effect but this is short lived. However it is the long term treatment with PRP that has regenerative properties and will improve the tone and texture of your skin. The PRP facial will not eradicate deep lines, it will soften them.

How Does PRP Work?

The beauty of this facial is that we use your own plasma which is derived from your blood, which makes it natural and side effect free. Blood is drawn from your arm, and collected in vials which are then spun in a special centrifuge. This Centrifuge separates the ‘golden’ coloured plasma from your red blood cells.

This plasma in rich in platelets and various growth factors which are the leaders in restoring skin. So what are Growth Factors? These are the building blocks of tissue

1/ Platelet Derived Growth Factor (PDGF) for cell growth, generation of new blood vessels,

2/ Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF) for generation of vascular endothelial cells.

3/ Transforming Growth Factor (TGF-B) for growth and neogenesis of epithelial cells, and vascular endothelial cells.

4/ Epithelial Growth Factor (EGF) for the promotion of epithelial cell growth and angiogenesis and stimulation of wound healing.

5/ Fibroblast Growth Factor (FGF) this helps with tissue repair, hyalluronic production, collagen production.

So you can see the capabilities of PRP. The plasma is then placed in an intradermal injector or I use the nappage technique which is used to inject the plasma into the dermis of the skin, by causing tiny punctures wound healing begins. It is important to know that whenever we injure ourselves we develop wound healing, via the ‘factors’ released from our platelets and this is how the PRP facial works.

More information will be given during the consultation.

One session of PRP can make a big difference in the under eye area, imagine what 3 or 6 sessions can do? Regenerative procedures need more than 1 treatment for the fibroblasts to get to work. Here I used a cannula to deliver the PRP. This is a comfortable procedure with topical numbing cream used to help with any discomfort.
